Founded in 2014 by Neale Daniher AO, Pat Cunningham, and the late Dr Ian Davis OAM, FightMND has become Australia’s leading force in the battle against motor neurone disease (MND). With over $115 million raised to date, the organisation funds critical research and support services. In 2025, Neale Daniher AO was named Australian of the Year, recognising his relentless advocacy despite his own diagnosis. Each year, FightMND hosts Big Freeze at the ‘G—a high-profile AFL event where celebrities slide into ice water to raise awareness. To mark the launch of Big Freeze 11, the organisation commissioned Giant Inflatables to create a large inflatable logo modelled after its iconic blue beanie.
The inflatable logo combined visual impact with engineering precision. Its outer shell was crafted from lightweight Oxford cloth for vivid graphic clarity, while the rear was constructed from durable PVC to support custom rigging. This dual-material design allowed the inflatable to be safely mounted to the Flinders Street Station, a heritage-listed building in Melbourne’s Federation Square. Custom tie-down points, a concealed internal fan, and full-colour branding completed the design.
The inflatable logo, unveiled at the event launch, drew widespread attention and became an immediate focal point for the public, media, and passersby. Its large scale and vibrant design made it visible from a distance, creating a strong visual presence across print and broadcast media—the beanie’s recognisable form reinforced campaign branding and significantly increased engagement on social platforms. As a photo opportunity and awareness tool, the inflatable logo played a central role in amplifying the campaign’s national reach and effectively engaging the audience.
Giant Inflatables has been producing inflatable brand activation products, sports inflatables and jumping castles since 1997.
