On behalf of Dove Men+Care, the marketing agency Octagon required a high-impact fan activation for the British & Irish Lions Rugby Tournament. They needed a portable, interactive game to support their brand sponsorship of the Wallabies. They called The Giant Inflatables design team create a custom inflatable action tackle, connecting the brand directly with rugby fans.
Background

Octagon is a leading sports and entertainment marketing organisation. They represented high-profile brand Dove, and its popular Men+Care brand and their sponsorship of the British & Irish Lions Rugby Tournament. Octagon needed a unique and portable brand activation attraction to engage rugby fans of all ages at fan centres before and after matches at the nationwide tour.

Octagon contacted Giant Inflatables to design and fabricate a custom inflatable action tackle. The objective was to create an interactive experience that promoted Dove’s ongoing brand partnership with the Wallabies. The game needed to be fun for participants and provide high-value brand exposure at every event.

Design and Fabrication

The design featured the robust, tested and proven two-lane inflatable action tackle game. Branding was prominent, with the Dove Men+Care and Wallabies logos displayed on all sides of the custom-designed inflatable sports game. Using precise PMS Colour Matching, the brand’s specific colours were perfectly recreated on the structure.

The central feature included giant inflatable replicas of Dove Men+Care deodorant cans, which served as the tackling obstacles, cleverly reinforcing product identity within the game. The sports inflatable was built from commercial-grade PVC, ensuring it would stand up to the most aggressive rough-housing from kids of all ages.

Result

The final product resulted in a high-energy inflatable action tackle, creating a memorable brand impression and successfully promoting the Dove Men+Care brand partnership. The game’s scale and interactive nature commanded and generated excitement and provided endless fodder for photos and social media posts.

Built for durability, the custom-built inflatable sports game is a significant asset in Dove’s marketing toolbox that can be used for the next five to ten years, to highlight Dove’s ongoing partnership with the Wallabies.
