The Melbourne Zoo approached the design team to create an inflatable replica of a lizard in the likeness of the Victorian Grassland Earless Dragon, also known as Tympanocryptis pinguicolla.

The lizard was designed to be seven metres long and almost two metres high. The inflatable replica was digitally printed to offer a fully three-dimensional, realistic rendering of the once-thought-extinct reptile.

Constructed of lightweight yet durable materials, the inflatable can be easily set up and stored when not in use and is equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

The Design and Fabrication
