Giant Inflatables modified their Climb and Slide design by adding a ball pit for a "swimming pool" ending. The brightly colored inflatable with prominent SLS branding was a hit, especially with younger participants.
Background
Surf Life Saving is a unique not-for-profit community cause that exists through community donations, fundraising, corporate sponsorship and government grants. Their mission is simple; saving lives, creating great Australians and building better communities. Since Surf Life Saving (SLS) was established in 1907, over 715,000 people have been rescued by their surf lifesavers.
In 2018, Surf Life Saving NSW approached Giant Inflatables to help them create an engaging interactive inflatable slide activity that could be used at community and fundraising events.
Having seen our standard Climb and Slide inflatable, SLS New South Wales asked for a similar product with a ball pool attached to form a stronger swimming theme.
The Design and Fabrication
Measuring 7.5m long, players would start at the far end with a climb up the inflatable wall, swiftly followed by a slide down the slope and a swim through the ball pool to the exit.
Featuring a strong visual identity with large, prominent branding, the interactive inflatable slide was designed to draw attendees to the colourful and unique activity, where they could engage with the brand and learn more about Surf Life Saving and its programs. Based on Giant Inflatables’ popular Climb and Interactive Inflatable Slide model, adapting the design to suit the SLS NSW activation was simple and efficient.
Using the SLS NSW brand guidelines to drive the livery design, the structure was designed to be immediately recognized as part of the SLS NSW organization and present a strong brand identity.
The Results
The Surf Life Saving NSW Climb became an irresistible activity for the younger swimmers, drawing families to the structure where they could engage with the Surf Life Saving brand and learn more about their work and the programs they offer.
