Gold Coast Suns Boost Fan Engagement with a suite of Custom AFL Themed Inflatables

Background

The Gold Coast Suns AFL Team is a professional Australian Rules football club from Queensland. They play in the national league and put a lot of effort into creating a lively community at their home games. To make match days more enjoyable, the club set up a Fan Fun Zone in the stadium parking lot, making the most of the space for ticket holders.

The club contacted Giant Inflatables to custom-design and fabricate a suite of five AFL-themed inflatable games. The interactive inflatable structures were to serve as a central attraction in the fan zone, helping the club achieve its objective of increasing fan dwell time and providing a family-friendly atmosphere before kick-off. By offering high-energy activities, the club ensures that young fans remain entertained during pre-game periods and match breaks.

Design and Fabrication

Giant Inflatables designed a set of AFL-themed inflatable games that prioritised durability and maintained the brand’s visual consistency. The project included five proven inflatable sports games: Inflatable Tic Tac Toe, Inflatable Mark and Goal, Inflatable Mini Goals, Inflatable Skill Zone, and a Stadium Jumping Castle. Each game was made from tough, UV-resistant PVC-coated nylon to withstand the strong Queensland sun.

Branding was a key part of the design, with the team using exact PMS colour matching to keep the Gold Coast Suns’ red and yellow consistent on all the inflatable games. The club’s logo and sponsor signs are easy to spot throughout the games.

To solve the issue of the asphalt surface, each inflatable came with a custom ground sheet. Every sports inflatable was designed for quick, easy setup, so the club’s staff could get everything ready quickly on game days. The end result is a fun, professional amusement area that shows off the club’s identity and makes a strong impression.

Result

The AFL Themed Inflatable Games turned the north end of the stadium into a top spot for fans. The activities kept young ticket holders coming back, helping the club create an interactive Match Day Fan Fun Zone. These games are tough and easy to move, so the club can use them again for future seasons.
